I had to take this paper as reference and design solutions to overcome one or more barriers mentioned in the paper.
This task was supposed to be completed before the interview and to be presented to the panel of professors at IIT Bombay in the interview.
Essentially I am designing a solution to help old people use fitness trackers efficiently and gain as much benefit from it as possible.
The problem space is focused on designing a solution to help older people use fitness trackers more effectively. The project aims to design a solution that helps older adults use fitness trackers effectively to improve their health and well-being. Many older adults struggle with using fitness trackers due to their complexity, which can lead to them not gaining the full benefits of the technology. The solution is based on a paper that identifies barriers to use and proposes ways to overcome them.
The problem that the market is facing is the low adoption and usage of fitness technologies such as wearable activity trackers among older adults, especially in developing countries. The user problems that exist within the current design are the complexity of the devices, the lack of local language support, personalized feedback on progress, and Q&A chat-bots.
